The calfs hits the beach

For those that is not familiar with South Africa, Port Elizabeth is called the windy city.If you wake up the morning and the sun is shining with no wind you hit the beach. The Wednesday was a day like that.We packed a picnic basket and this time told grandma to come with. When we got to the beach there was a slight breeze and Anika did not even put her cozzie on.The played in the sand and didn't want to swim with me in the see.

They had a joll.We had lunch and then walked down Happy Valley. This is a stretch that follows a small little river and they have all these characters, much to the delight of the kids.
Needless to say they fell asleep on the way home.

Some pictures.

The Tuesday we went to the Port Elizabeth aquarium. The thing about going on holiday out of season is they normally clean tanks and get ready for the holiday season. They were cleaning the seal enclosure and we did not see the seals swim around.

Great grandmother came with again and we got to see some nice creatures.
Here is some piccies. The children was finished and fell asleep in the car.

We went to the beach...

On Sunday we just hang around at my parents house and by Monday my mom was ready to commit herself to the nearest institute. The wind was pumping in PE and I took the kids to the park and to a nearby farm to look at the animals.

They were nagging to see the see so we loaded my grandmother(which is also visiting) into the car and we went to the beach. The sand was blowing against their legs and that was the end of the nagging. We went to the Wimpy for some icecream and that was the end of day 1.

Here is some pics:

The calves was very well behaved in the car.We stopped regularly and had lunch in Graaff Reinet. Here is some pics.

The Calves had chickenpox

So we had friends over and the Sunday morning Anika says to me: Look mommy I got blisters
What blisters. So I have a look and my first thought was" Did you try and smoke?
It looked like a cigarette burn.Upon closer inspection we discovered that it is chickenpox.

So she couldn't go to school for two weeks. Two weeks of hell.Besides the fact that she couldn't stop scratching she could not leave her brothers alone. They were fighting constantly.
Eventually she could go back to school just to discover that the twins now had it.Werner had it bad but Johan had it three times as bad.

Here is some pics of the speckled twins when it just started showing.

Oh yeah I have had a great 2 days.

Slept over at my sister's place on Thursday night. We had some red wine and went to bed in the early morning of Friday.Got up at six and was waiting for the rest of the gang to get ready.

We had tickets for the Coca Cola Rock Festival in Johannesburg.Yeah.
Eventually we hit the road and we were on our way to the New Market Racing Course in Alberton.
The show started at 12 and kept going to well after 12 at night.
The line up was awesome with some outh African bands and then later the International bands.
We listened to the following S.A Bands:

  1. Lonehill Estate
  2. Crash Car Burn
  3. Wonderboom
  4. Prime Circle
Awesome stuff. We met up with some friends and was smuggled into the Golden circle. When we went to buy tickets the Golden Circle tickets was sold out. They had a huge Golden Circle area to big if you ask me.They could have sold some more tickets easily.

We then enjoyed the following bands:
  1. 30 Seconds to Mars
  2. Kaiser Chiefs
  3. Good Charlotte
  4. Chris Cornell
  5. Muse
  6. Korn
Jared from 30 Seconds to Mars is just so hot.We perved and enjoyed the show.
Muse was huge. The crowd went ape and when Korn went on(My Favorite) they went ape sh@t.

I was awesome to be able to see all these bands. They all said they love SA and will be back.
Here is some pics.Sorry for the quality as I had to use my cellphone as no cameras was allowed. We however succeeded in smuggling n the whiskey tot pack.Won't tell you were those was stashed.
